Meet the Outfitters
Derek and Margaret Hutton own and operate Virginia River Guides. They have nearly two decades of outfitting, organizing and leading fly fishing excursions both domestically and abroad. They have the knowledge and experience you are looking for.
VRG specializes in fly fishing the headwaters of Virginia’s most productive rivers. The diverse fishery and scenic beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains are truly world-class. There are few places where cold water trout streams transition into renowned smallmouth bass rivers that also harbor the chance of a trophy musky. We fish the most productive sections of the best rivers at the best times of the year. Our focus is on your successful experience.
